About Us

Fables for Japan was born out of the devastating tragedies that befell Japan in the 2011 earthquake, tsunami, and resulting radiation disaster in Fukushima Prefecture. Eighty-seven writers and artists, from around the world, came together to create an amazing three-volume anthology e-book series. Each book collects original tales, comic book stories, and poetry, all beautifully illustrated and spun from the foundations of Japanese folklore.

From classic legends retold with a modern perspective to original tales for the next generation, "Fable for Japan" honors the beauty of this ancient culture in creative and new ways. These books will make you laugh, cry, and consider how myth still shapes our society.

These books are absolutely FREE and offered by the contributors as a memorial to those who lost their lives and a testament to the tremendous will of those who continue on. The Fables for Japan contributors hope you enjoy these works and hope you will consider a gift directed toward helping those in Japan who are still struggling.

As a contributor and a book lover, I have not seen such a beautiful collection as this one in a long, long time! Whiloe the works are beautiful in themselves, writings and illustrations, the represent and show the love of humanity of so many, for it is a labor of love for those whose lives were lost or disrupted by a disater born of Nature's making...I am proud indeed to be one of the 87
authors/poets and the expressive and beautiful art illustrations contributed by the illustrators! From its inception, it was a labor of love -- all gave freely of their talents to create the three volumes, and Jason
Minor, the noted author, put in long hard hours putting it together to produce all the beauty therein... Thank you, Jason, for allowing me to have a small part in the project!
